HOW TO CALCULATE VOLUME OF HOLLOW CONCRETE COLUMN

VOLUME OF HOLLOW CONCRETE COLUMN

The calculation of the volume of the hollow Concrete column is very easy and simple. For your better understanding lits take this example.

EXAMPLE:

Let’s take we have a column have a height 4 m and the inner radius of the column is 0.2 m and outer is 0.5 so calculate the volume of the Hallow column.

Given Data:

H = 4 m.

R = 0.5 m.

r = 0.2 m.

#Where

h = Height of the hollow column.

R = Outer radius of the hollow column.

r = Internal radius of the hollow column.

The formula for calculating the volume of hollow column is given below:

Solution:

Volume = (πR²h – πr²h)

= πh ( R² – r²)

= 3.14 x 4 ( 0.5² – 0.2²) [∵ π =3.14]

= 12.56 ( 0.25 – 0.04)

= 12.56 x 0.21

= 2.6376 m³ Ans…..
